FOLLOW-UP ACTIVITY FOR TEACHERS FROM GAGAUZIA, WHO TEACH ROMANIAN LANGUAGE IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS
On the 3rd of December 2011, the Educational Center PRO DIDACTICA organized the final activity within the project „Improving State Language Teaching in Gagauzia, implemented with the support of the High Commissioner for National Minorities of the OSCE and the Federal Office for Foreign Affairs of Germany. The project was focussed specifically on providing a training program for teachers from Gagauzia, which teach Romanian in primary school.
SCHOOL COMMUNITIES IN ACTION – NEWS AND PERSPECTIVES
During 24-25 November and 1-2 December, at Educational Center PRO DIDACTICA took place the final activity of the project first year. It was attended by local coordinators from 50 project schools. In this activity, were presented positive practices, successes, including quantitative and qualitative indicators of the progress in development of the extracurricular activities during 2011 year. Meanwhile, schools who implemented successfully the project have a chance to continue local projects in next year.
ROMANIAN LANGUAGE – AN URGENT NECESSITY FOR SOCIAL INTEGRATION
From 10 to 14 of October, the Educational Center PRO DIDACTICA is implementing the first part of a training program for teachers from Gagauzia, which teach Romanian in primary school. The activity involved 46 teachers from around 40 schools, which are trained by a team of 10 trainers. The program includes five days of training perfortmed in an interactive form.
Since August 15, the Educational Center PRO DIDACTICA will implement a new project „Improving State Language Teaching in Gagauzia” which is supported by the High Commissioner on National Minorities of the OSCE and the Federal Office for Foreign Affairs of Germany.
The overall goal of the project is to contribute to a more integrated society in Moldova through improved state language teaching in the schools of Gagauzia
The project will focus specifically on providing a training program for teachers from Gagauzia, which teach Romanian in primary school. For this purpose will be created a group of trainers, who, besides the training of teachers, will participate in developing the training concept and training materials for it.
Participants will be involved in a training program for 5 days, where they can acquire new knowledge and will be able to improve / upgrade methodology skills of the Romanian language teaching in primary school, including key application of modern educational technologies and pupil centered learning. After a period of application of the learned in the classroom, they will meet within the follow-up activities to share experience and exchange best practices.The project has duration of four months and will end on December 15, 2011.

TEACHING LEADERSHIP – A CHALLENGE FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF TEACHERS
Within the international project „Teaching Leadership”, coordionated by a team from Cambridge University, appeared a functional and original book „Teaching Leadership – a challenge for professional development of teachers”. It was coordinated and conceptualized by Viorica Goraş-Postică and Rima Bezede. The book, published in an edition of 500 copies, included theoretical concepts and practical tools of Teaching leadership as well as development projects elaborated by the teachers involved in the project. This book completes PRO DIDACTICA Library collection, HERE AND NOW.Practical approach of this concept focuses on quality of learning, on systematic monitoring and evaluation of learning, on professional development of teachers.

FINAL SEMINAR WITHIN TEACHING LEADERSHIP PROJECT IN MOLDOVA
On 14 July 2011, at the Educational Center PRO DIDACTICA, was organized a final seminar within Teaching Leadership project. The 15 teachers who are involved in the project presented their professional development projects and were certified. The activity was attended by representatives of Ministry of Education and Rayonal Department of Education, Youth and Sport.
EASTERN DIMENSION OF MOBILITY - CONFERENCE IN WARSAW
On 6-7 July, in Warsaw was held a conference entitled Eastern dimension of mobility. It was organized by the European Commission and Poland, which currently holds the Presidency of the Council of Europe, and is one of the EU Eastern Partnership Initiative.
During the period June 20 – June 30 trainers from Educational Center PRO DIDACTICA are implementing a training program for teachers and managers from primary level. The training sessions involved 99 teachers from Orhei. The purpose of this activity is to support the developing and updating of teachers professional skills.
From February 4 to June 4 2011, Educational Center PRO DIDACTICA implemented a training program for lyceum teachers from rural areas. This program took place within the project Quality Education in Rural Areas in Moldova, supported by the World Bank and coordinated by the Ministry of Education. The aim of this activity was to develop and update the teacher’s methodological skills.
On June 1st, at the Educational Centre took place a meeting with representatives of Centre of Information and Research “Integration and development” from Simferopol, Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Ukraine.
Topics at the meeting included the opportunities of creation, step by step, of a joint partnership in the implementation of neighborhood projects related to intercultural education and exchange of experience between the two countries - Moldova and Ukraine.
This activity was attended by representatives of the ministry and also of Gagauzia.

MONITORING VISITS
From April 14 to May 25, 2011, a number of 30 monitoring visits were conducted in 30 institutions, involved in the project School Communities in Action: creating the conditions for persistence in school pupils in socially vulnerable families. Trainers and the project managerial team from EC Pro Didactica has been in several of them accompanied by Yoon Durbin, representative of the Open Society Institute in Budapest and international consultant of the project.Aiming at assessing the quality of project activities, monitoring was based on tools developed both for trainers and for the implementation team.
NETWORKING EVENT IN BUCHAREST WITHIN INTERNATIONAL PROJECT “TEACHER LEADERSHIP”
From May the 20th to the 21st of May, the Centre Education 2000 + from Bucharest, in collaboration with the Faculty of Education from Cambridge University and the Educational Center PRO DIDACTICA, organized an international seminary with the participation of teachers from Iaşi, Bucharest and Moldova. Within this activity teachers were able to exchange professional experience of teaching and the research made.
A METHODOLOGYCAL SEMINAR FOR TEACHERS-LEADERS AT LYCEUM “EMIL NICULA” FROM MERENI, ANENII NOI
On May 16th, representatives of the three teams involved in the International Project “Teacher Leadership” – TL Petrunea, Glodeni; TL ”Liviu Damian”, Rişcani, and the hosts, met again to exchange experience and knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects with teachers from Mereni. Contacts with a pedagogical impact were established, and current issues, focused on developing multiple intelligences in different disciplines were discussed.
FOLLOW-UP ACTIVITY. TRAINING PROGRAM FOR TEACHERS WHO WORK WITH CHILDREN FROM SOCIALLY VULNERABLE FAMILIES
On May 6th, at Educational Centre PRO DIDACTICA, took place a follow-up activity for teachers, who have participated during the month of March 2011 in a Training program for teachers who work with children from socially vulnerable families within the project School Communities in Action: Creating conditions for children from socially vulnerable families to stay in school. There were two teachers invited from each institution involved. During the follow-up sessions they presented their homework, the successes and problems they overcame.
Recently no. 2 (66), 2011 of Didactica Pro... magazine of educational theory and practice has been published. Titled Again about competencies it contains several articles focused on the topic of theoretical and practical aspects related to the training of competences at the preschool and school levels, for children and also adults, like: Educational competence - value, objective and purpose (Vlad PÂSLARU), Project Manager: claimed competences on the educational market (Viorica GORAŞ-POSTICĂ), Methodological aspects of competence training at chemistry lessons (Ion BOTGROS, Ludmila FRANŢUZAN, Lilia ZOTA), Background on gender friendly school - stake for the of gender development of children (Daniela TERZI-BARBAROŞIE) etc.

EXCHANGE OF GOOD PRACTICES WITHIN THE PROJECT “EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP” - METHODOLOGYCAL SEMINAR IN LYCEUM PETRUNEA, GLODENI
On 18 April, teachers from the three schools involved in the project “Educational Leadership” - L „Emil Necula” Mereni, Anenii Noi; L „Liviu Damian” Rîşcani and L Petrunea have had the pleasure to meet again to disseminate the results of their research in development projects.
METHODOLOGICAL TRAINING FOR TEACHERS IN RURAL LYCEUMS
In rural lyceums throughout the republic is ongoing methodological training program for lyceum teacher staff within the project “Quality Education in Rural Areas of Moldova”. The 785 local trainers involved in this program were prepared in March, by a team of 24 national trainers.
Among those who have already completed courses are Anenii Noi, Briceni, Edinet, Floresti, Soroca and Lyceum “Lucian Blaga” of Tiraspol. Most of teams decided to provide the training activities during Easter holidays, the deadline is May 10.Project monitoring team, represented by the representatives of Ministry of Education and Educational Center PRO DIDACTICA, recently visited Lyceum “Olimp” of Costesti, Ialoveni.

DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS FOR PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS - ESSENCEOF THEINTERNATIONAL PROJECTS “EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP”
On the1st of April, at the Educational Centre PRO DIDACTICA representatives of 2 schools (Lyceum „Emil Nicula” Mereni, Anenii Noi and Lyceum Petrunea, Glodeni) participated at a workshop within a unique international project, initiated and coordinated by the University of CambridgeDuring the training workshop they reviewed research projects, in the final phase, which have different subjects and are oriented towards solving prior problems in the education, making up the presentation summary of the theoretical and practical tools applied and used in research.
On March 27 ended the trainings of local trainers in the subcomponent “Methodological training for lyceum teachers” within the project “Quality Education in Rural Areas of Moldova”. It was attended by 785 teachers from lyceums, including Chiefs of Methodological Centers from all 35 rayons. Training activities were conducted by a team of national trainers, who have implemented a 24-hours activity, which included a variety of topics such as: Management of the lesson in terms of quality assurance perspective.
TRAINING PROGRAM FOR TEACHERS WHO WORK WITH CHILDREN FROM SOCIALLY VULNERABLE FAMILIES
During periods March 21 to 23 and March 28 to 30 at Educational Center PRO DIDACTICA has been implemented a training program for teachers who workwith children from socially- vulnerable families. This activity is organized within project School Communities in Action: Creating conditions for children from socially vulnerable families to stay in school.The program was attended by two representatives from each school involved in the project: the deputy director for education and a teacher.
METHODOLOGICAL TRAINING FOR LOCAL TRAINERS IN THE PROJECT “QUALITY EDUCATION IN RURAL AREAS OF MOLDOVA”
From March 5 to 27 current, at the Institute of Labor, Educational Center PRO DIDACTICA implements a training program for local trainers within the subcomponent “Methodological training for lyceum teachers” of project “Quality education in rural areas of Moldova”. Participants of this training are about 800 local trainers, two teachers from each lyceum form the country and heads of methodical centers in all districts.
In the period February 24 to 26, at PRO DIDACTICA, which took place a methodological training for 20 national trainers within the project “Quality education in rural areas Moldova”, supported by the World Bank and coordinated by the Ministry of Education.
This number of the magazine approaches different aspects of social education, an education oriented towards revaluating individuality and society requirements. Mr. D. Batîr encourages youngsters to live their lives based on some perennial values. In the same rubric – QUO VADIS – M. Hadîrcă reflects on education in the context of an educational ideal - reality relation. The rubric EX CATHEDRA debates the following problems: Intercultural education – premise of successful integration in the contemporary society (O. Duhlicher, O. Dandara), Influence of vocational education on the social and scholar integration (O. Dandara), Didactic planning and developing technologic competences of pupils (A. Rusu) and Psycho-pedagogical approach of the personality of a small pupil in the context of technological integration (E. Vinnicenco).
ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE CONSEPT PROJECT
In 2010, as in previous two years, the Educational Center PRO DIDACTICA participates, as a partner, to the implementation of the project CONSEPT / “Consolidating the system of professional technical education from the Republic of Moldova”/ Strengthening Vocational Training in Moldova, organized with the support of the „Liechtenstein Development Service Foundation (LED).
CRITICAL THINKING METHODOLOGY INCORPORATION INTO SCHOOL CURRICULUM. DECEMBER 2009–FEBRUARY 2010 ACTIVITIES
Within the “Integration of the critical thinking development methodologies into the renovated version of the National Curriculum for pre-university education in Republic of Moldova” project, there were several activities organized by February 4th, 2010.
• Analysis of the curricular documents from 2006 and analysis of the new curricular drafts under development within the Ministry of Education project, which have been proposed for public discussion and identification of gaps in terms of incorporation of principles of critical thinking development within the methodological component of the curriculum; (December 2009 -January 2010);
A NEW PROJECT: INTEGRATION OF THE CRITICAL THINKING DEVELOPMENT METHODOLOGIES INTO THE RENOVATED VERSION OF THE NATIONAL CURRICULUM FOR PRE-UNIVERSITY EDUCATION IN REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA
A new project targeting aiming to support the process of qualitative improvement of the National Curriculum for pre-university education in the Republic of Moldova via the integration of the critical thinking development principles and methodology into the renovated version of subject curricula has started in December 2009. The project is supported by a grant from Foundation Open Society Institute (Zug).
CONSULTANCY IN SDP ELABORATION WITHIN THE CONSEPT PROJECT
During May – July, 2008, during the CONSEPT project, the “Organizational Development” component, the site coaching/consultancy activities took place.
The purpose of implementing these activities was to contribute to the improvement of School Development Plans by assuring professional support and assistance to the administrative teams.
During 26-30 May, within the „For a better governance and resposibility in school” project, the answer visit of the didactic and managerial staff from Romania took place in the theoretical lyceums „A. Russo” from Orhei, „M. Eminescu” from Comrat and from Varniţa, Anenii Noi county.
THE DIDACTIC ADDITIONAL ISSUE “READING, I LEARN TO BE” – NOW IN RUSSIAN TOO!
Recently, the didactic book series HERE AND NOW was completed with the additional issue ЧИТАЮ И УЧУСЬ БЫТЬ, elaborated within the FUTURE FOR OUR CHILDREN project. The first book beneficiaries were formmassters from the ATU Gagauzia (Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauzia) and Taraclia region.
As a result of the study visit in Romania – a visit done within the „For a better governance and resposibility in school” project – all 21members of the administrative teams from the participative schools achieved rich experiences. They were impressed by the high level of professional competences shown...
„INTERCULTURAL EDUCATION: What? Why? How?” MUNICIPAL SEMINAR IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PRODIDACTICA EDUCATIONAL
On May 21st 2008 the liceum „Nicolae Iorga” from Chisinau was the host of the „INTERCULTURAL EDUCATION: What? Why? How?” municipal seminar, organized by the Information and Relations with Community Section within the Directorate for Education, Youth and Sport from Chisinau, in partnership with PRO DIDACTICA Educational Centre.
During May 19-24, a group of 22 professors, including the managerial staff from seven liceums from Moldova, are making a study visit in Romania.The activity is part of the „For a better management and responsibility in school” project, developed in partnership with Educatia Centre 2000+ from Bucharest.
“THE FUTURE FOR OUR CHILDREN” PROJECT. PRELIMINARY SUMMING UP
Within the Scholarship Programme, the follow-up activities for master-teachers from ATU Gagauzia (Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauzia) and Taraclia region have ended.
On May 16th, the last workshops took place at the Centre, summarizing the work done on field by the teacher-beneficiaries.
THE DIDACTIC ADDITIONAL ISSUE “READING, I LEARN TO BE” (CITIND, ÎNVĂŢ SĂ FIU) IS A NICE ACHIEVEMENT OF “THE FUTURE FOR OUR CHILDREN” PROJECT TEAM
During the Easter holidays, a new event, that took place at the PRO DIDACTICA Educational Centre, brought to a meeting the main specialists from the Regional Ministry of Education which are responsible for the education sector.
PRODUCTIVE LEARNING A NEW PROJECT WHICH HAS THE AIM TO BUILD A BRIDGE BETWEEN SCHOOL AND LIFE
On April the 9th - 11th 2008, an opening seminar of the project in question took place in Sinaia, being organized by the Educaţia 2000+ Centre from Bucharest and having as participants the Romania, Bulgaria and Republic of Moldova deputations. The financial support was offered by Soros Foundation.
THE ELABORATION OF THE DEVELOPMENT PLANS OF PROFESSIONAL SCHOOLS GOES ON
During April the 10th -12th of 2008, within the CONSEPT project, the second module of the instructive program „The elaboration of the Development Plan of the School” took place.
The administrative teams from the 4 pilot-professional schools have presented their sketches regarding the Development Plans of the School.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM „A FUTURE FOR OUR CHILDREN” AT THE STAGE OF SUMMING UP

ELABORATION OF THE DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR PROFESSIONAL SCHOOLS WITHIN THE CONSEPT PROJECT
During the period of March the 19th -22nd 2008, a training programme „Elaboration of the development plan for Schools” took place at the PRO DIDACTICA Educational Centre. It was designed for managerial teams from 4 participating professional schools at “The conssolidating of technical professional preparation system in Republic of Moldova” (CONSEPT) project.
THE FINAL PHASE OF THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM „A FUTURE FOR OUR CHILDREN”
During the spring holidays, the Scholarship Program for those 3 groups of master-teachers from ATU Găgăuzia and Taraclia was organized. Thus, a total of 120 scholarship beneficiaries were involved in the project “A future for our children”.
CONSOLIDATING THE SYSTEM OF PROFESSIONAL TECHNICAL EDUCATION FROM THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA
The Educational Center PRO DIDACTICA participates, as a partner, to the implementation of the project “Consolidating the system of professional technical education from the Republic of Moldova”/ Strengthening Vocational Training in Moldova, organized with the financial support of the „Liechtenstein Development Service Foundation (LED).
DISSEMINATING GOOD PRACTICES WITHIN THE PROJECT: “TOWARDS A BETTER GOVERNANCE AND RESPONSIBILITY IN SCHOOLS”
Two site visits with the scope of disseminating good practices of managerial teams were organized within the project “Towards a better governance and responsibility in schools”, implemented in partnership with the Center Education 2000+, Bucharest, and financed by the Institute for an Open Society from Budapest. The seminars in which were presented the most successful practices took place at the Theoretical Lyceum from Gura Galbenei and at Theoretical Lyceum „Alexandru cel Bun” from Slobozia.
Within the project „A future for our children”, the work site visits are being organized. The project trainers are participating to the activities that are being organized by class-teachers from the South part of the Republic, beneficiaries of the Scholarship Program.
These activities approach different aspects of the problem of children dumped at home as a result of their parents going abroad to work. In order to accomplish the project’s specific objectives – pupils, parents, community members etc. are involved in the activities.
PARTICIPATION AND QUALITY IN EDUCATION: A NEW REGIONAL RESEARCH PROJECT IN SOUTH-EASTERN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES
On the 6th and 7th of February, 2008, the Educational Center PRO DIDACTICA has organized an interview, using the focus-group method, with the school principals from Chisinau, Anenii Noi, Straseni and Ialoveni. This activity represents a start of a new project – Participation and quality in Education – a regional research project in South-Eastern European countries, with the financial support ESP (Education Support Program) and coordinated by the Center of Educational Policies from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
